Say: “I am out of Competition”

Women’s Circles are like a multifaceted mirror in which every woman sees herself reflected. A Circle is an ancient practice capable of changing ourselves and the world. Our April’s session was dedicated to “Planting the Seeds in your Sacred Garden”.

The seeds were the gifts, strengths and passions of each participant. Among the many strategies we shared in the Circle, I though it was important to write about strategies for staying balanced at work. Many of my clients come asking for solutions around this theme, so here-below the strategies that work for many women, and I hope they work for you too.

1 – Declare Yourself Out of Competition

Recognize your gifts: take reflection time several times a day, and jot down in a journal your feelings and thoughts about the different things you do. You will recognize a gift because you will be in “the flow”: the moment where time stops and you fill whole, grounded and passionate about what you are doing.
Work to develop and nurture your gifts (instead of learning skills): take courses, read books, invest part of your time and money actively developing them.
Share your gifts with the world: choose projects, people or activities where you can express your gifts.

When you recognize your gifts, you are able to recognize the gifts and talents of others. When you you don’t know who you are, you will compare, judge and criticize yourself and others. That place creates fear, separation and of course, competition.
Before you even realize, you created a mechanism of restless search for external approval and a false sense of direction, hoping the next big project brings meaning to our life.

2 – Do Your Homework

The main homework is to take time for reflection and check in with you to raise your awareness. The solution is easier than it seems, what you need is commitment to a simple practice that is taylor to you and only you.

Register what you like doing and what you don’t enjoy doing (what you never enjoyed, and what you don’t enjoy now). Reflect in what you could be delegating more, and what you can slowly stop doing (those things that are left undone from the to-do-list are normally not necessary for achieving what you want to achieve).

3 – Design a Perfect Day

“A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”  I asked to the Circle: “What if you could design your days following this quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupery?” Definitely the to-do-list would be shorter and we will find contentment every day!
Keep a ‘Success Journal’ – this was one of the most transformative practices for one of the women in the Circle. This journal is what keeps her aware of everything she does  and away from self criticism.

Move forward with confidence

On Wednesday 11th September I sat down in beautiful Mongolian Countryside for a healing session with a local shaman. Mongolian shamans, specifically White Shamans as she was, call forth their helping spirits fully embodying them to pass on messages, answer burning life questions, heal or divination.

“You have a very deep question that you want to ask me” the White Shaman stated after giving me the messages I needed to hear. Probably I should not have been shocked, yet with my heart beating fast I said, “Yes…  How do I find courage and strength to keep navigating this transition time?”

“First, take care of yourself. Close all old doors before opening a new one. Now, you have to know you are doing the right thing now, you are whole. Think bigger and always follow your heart. You are like a Ovoo (*) where people come for guidance,  healing and connection. You have to reach out and plant seeds. Stop doing. Plant seeds and trust in the miracle of life.”
This message seemed to reverberate louder than ever before in me. Certainly it was what I exactly needed to be reminded of. Dream big. Share. Teach. Remove all doubt. Move forward with confidence. Detach from the outcome.

I know the how and the when are not up to me to decide today. Yet I was told to commit to my ultimate dream and trust: is time to grow bigger. I have been assured that I am ready and that I have help. With this post I intent to make myself accountable, trusting in the power of my vulnerability. I command for guidance and clear synchronicities. And I ask to always be reminded that it is not about “me”. There is nothing that is “mine”. For this remembering helps me to get out of my own way.

I am grateful to you for reading these lines, and for being the inspiration of my work.

So be it, and so it is.

Why a “Women’s Moon Lodge”

Pause. Be. Receive.

This is something I always share in the Circles with the participants, and felt I needed to openly share it with you too.

In ancient times, women knew the importance of cultivating the feminine essence of kindness, fierce compassion and strength. The capacity of pausing and wait until the right moment appear to take action. They new the importance of not rushing through things. They teaches us the practice of intuition, guidance and high magic. They are teachers of the natural cycles.

Today busy women meet around the Women’s Moon Lodge to take time for themselves, to reflect, listen and be listened. The Moon Lodge is a place to experience how being fully yourself feels like.

sharing from the heart
learning from each other
developing your creativity and intuition
co-creating an evening of high magic!

The moon represents the feminine, the emotional and the nurturing aspects in our lives. The moon radiates her energy to us in the most amazing cycles of waxing and waning, bringing in and releasing, just like the tides of our oceans, constant, rhythmic and soothing.
Working with the moon energy can be very simple and enriching.  The “Women’s Moon Lodge” is a special place where busy women of today meet to reflect, share and to bring the moon magic into their lives.

A New Moon marks the beginning of a new cycle, a fresh start in it’s cycle of waxing and waning. During this time the Moon is empty and receptive and full of potential. This is an optimum time to plant seeds of intentions for what you wish to manifest in your life.

Most of us, live our lives so disconnected from the Earth, and devoid of any kind of ritual that creates the space for us to connect. So the New Moon provides us with an opportunity to take the time to create SACRED SPACE for ourselves. It’s essential for our well-being and that of our families.

There is something so powerful when women come together to support each other on their journey, in the hopes and dreams. We are healed, we are nurtured, we feel comforted and understood. Moreover, when you share sacred space together you magnify the power of your intentions and you energetically create a web of support for not only your circle of women friends but with women everywhere.

{ Working with the Moon } – Vitality and everything Earthy

A New Moon is approaching on September 5th 2013. In our Women’s Moon Lodge, our main focus when looking for topics around which to frame our intentions will be Virgo herself. She comes to us garbed in the Earth Element, with the planet Mercury giving her direction. She is practical and likes to see things manifest through her efforts. She’s a bit of a perfectionist and can have pesky issues of dissatisfaction with “the way things are.” Due to her association with the 6th House of health, self-perfection and service she can be your best friend when it comes to clear advice on puzzles around health. She can function like a detective in finding the source of issues that may be blocking our vitality.

  • Are we seeing life and our surroundings from a purely critical point of view?
  • What would be a way to balance that: appreciation and compassion?
  • Are we all work and no play? Maybe we need to structure into our schedule some time for release from focus? Something physical perhaps would be the balance?
  • What issues could be blocking my vitality? What do I know calls for transformation but is blocked by my fears?
  • Perhaps we can eliminate that which is no longer needed, including certain people in our lives.

Practice your meditation during this new moon, asking your body to reveal the messages and answers to these questions. Plant the seed that will bring vitality, join and fulfillment in the next cycle. And as always, make space for that seed to grow letting go of something (habit, relationship, activity or thought) that doesn’t serve you anymore.
